Summary:
The Technician Co-Ordinator will be responsible for ensuring that administration services operate efficiently and provide outstanding customer service.

Knowledge of light commercial vehicles, and the truck industry would be desirable.
The Technician Co-Ordinator will be managing a team of technicians and must at all times present the highest levels of customer service.

The key day-to-day responsibilities of this role are varied and include but are not limited to:
• Organising the work of mobile technicians and workshop, keeping track on work scheduled for them and ensuring that all booked jobs are completed on time and necessary paperwork completed accurately both in electronic and paper formats.

• Answering phones
• Updating the call centre
• Organising the order and delivery of parts for technicians as appropriate
• Assisting the depot manager with their day to day duties
• Any other administrative duties as required
• Covering for depot manager when on leave

The ideal candidate will:

Workshop Depot Manager - Stevenage

You will be responsible for developing profitability and ensuring the depot operates efficiently and provides outstanding customer service.
You must be assertive and influential with a proven track record in a managerial role.
You will be a keen motivator and a strong leader, willing to lead from the front but also be willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.
An extensive knowledge of commercial and light commercial vehicles is essential.
You will be overseeing a team of technicians and admin staff, the position holds responsibility for all workshop activities, for achieving the highest level of customer service, maintaining a clean, efficient workshop and achieving the highest standards of presentation.

The role involves monitoring the progress of jobs in the workshop, controlling the wastage of consumable materials, ensuring jobs are fairly allocated to Technicians, ensuring a high productivity output and that all work carried out complies with retailer, manufacturer and industry health and safety guidelines.
Providing regular updates to call centre on work progress and planning of vehicle MOT’s.

You will be required to:
• carry out regular process reviews to identify operational issues and ensure appropriate follow up actions are taken to rectify.
• Manage the performance of workshop to ensure that KPI and SLA targets are achieved.
• Experience of working within the motor vehicle industry.
• Knowledge / experience of leading teams.
• An understanding of Operators Licence Laws and Regulations.
• Delegate workloads to Admin staff as well as mobile and workshop Technicians.
• Liaising with Technicians both mobile and workshop based.
• Ensuring WIP`s deadlines are met and carried out in a cost-effective manner.

Workshop Technician

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic qualified vehicle technician who is keen to grow and develop with the company in the role of Workshop Technician.
Summary of Role
You will be responsible for ensuring the workshop operates efficiently and provides outstanding customer service. The work will require a high level of practical work on vehicles, as the daily needs require as well as managing the overall tidiness of the workshop and yard in conjunction with other team members.
A good knowledge of light commercial vehicles is essential, in particular Mercedes Sprinter and Renault traffic. A working knowledge of HGVs would also be desirable but not essential.
You will be responsible for repairing vehicles to a high standard and within a timely manner, having your own tools is essential.
You will require a driving licence to cover driving vehicles up to 7.5ton.

The role involves ensuring the timely progress of jobs through the workshop, controlling the usage of consumable materials, ensuring once jobs are completed all paperwork is submitted to the admin team, and guaranteeing all work carried out complies with retailer, manufacturer and industry health and safety guidelines.

You will be required to:
• Prepare vehicles for MOT – carrying out all necessary checks to ensure non-failure of vehicles
• Ensure the performance of workshop meets set KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and SLA (Service Level Agreements) targets
• Have experience of working within the motor vehicle industry
• Knowledge / experience of working in a team and on own initiative
• Have an understanding of Operators Licence Laws and Regulations
• Ensuring WIPs deadlines are met and carried out in a cost-effective manner.
• Adhering to company`s Health and Safety regulations to prevent accidents within the workplace
• Demonstrate proof of professional competence
• Produce certification of training to City & Guilds standards or equivalent
